Guidelines for the Metro Uniforms Nursing Scholarship

The Metro Uniforms Scholarship is offered to current nursing students of a Nursing Degree program. This scholarship will be given annually from the proceeds from Metro Uniforms Annual Nurses’ Benefit Fashion Show as long as the student remains in good standing in the Nursing Program according to the criteria listed below. A committee set up by the Director of the Nursing Program in accordance with the Financial Aid Office will screen the candidates that meet the listed criteria and will evaluate potential recipients, along with Metro Uniforms.

Qualifications

Any person who has been accepted in any Degree Nursing Program may apply for the Metro Uniforms Nursing Scholarship. The process of determining the scholarship recipient is based on the probability of success within the program combined with the financial need of the applicant.

Requirements

1. Acceptance in to any College Nursing Degree Program
2. Fill out a completed Nursing Scholarship Application.
3. Applications must be received by May 10th, 2015.
4. Complete essay questions and submit the completed application online.
5. The recipient agrees to respond promptly within one week to communications regarding the scholarship.
6. Personally meet with the representatives of Metro Uniforms Nursing Scholarship at the end of the semester and prior to graduation, at mutually-convenient times.
7. Allow his/her photograph to be used as a scholarship recipient.
8. If selected, the recipient must agree to all terms and requirements listed.

Criteria for Selection

1. Demonstrate outstanding personal and professional leadership amongst peers.
2. Demonstrate qualities of integrity and commitment to the practice of nursing and service to mankind.
3. Pursue a degree in Nursing.
4. Demonstrate a real financial need.
5. Obtain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
6. All applicants will be considered without regard to race, sex, religion or national origin.

Criteria for Maintenance of the Scholarship

1. Demonstrate the above criteria for selection of the Metro Uniforms Nursing Scholarship.
2. Continue to meet the listed requirements of the Metro Uniforms Nursing Scholarship.
3. Maintain continued enrollment in any Nursing Program and be in good standing in accordance with the requirements of the Nursing Program.
4. Maintain a semester GPA of 3.0 or greater.
